How to hide your standoffs

The Crown Casino and Entertainment Centre in Melbourne, Australia, is a large complex in the heart of the city offering three world-class hotels, eight restaurants, two luxury spas, extensive shopping, gaming, and various entertainment options.

The air bridge within the complex features a display facility consisting of black aluminium frames and punched metal panels. This facility is used to showcase 36 large images focusing on current topics of interest.

Creative Production Services Pty Limited supplied and installed Crown Casino’s images, which were mounted on white ACM panels. CEO Keith Courtney wanted to secure the white panels to the black punched metal backgrounds with colour-coordinated standoffs—a white front screw matching the ACM panels and a matt black spacer matching the punched metal.

Keith searched extensively for standoff parts in the colours he wanted and found them in Pizazz’s Monomounts Resin range. By matching the standoff colours with the panel colours, Keith effectively hid them from view, removing them from being a visual element in the display, and no longer competing for visual attention with the Images.
